Those palace pampered bratts (on the right) would have praise the vote at your church. Loving yourself is the first law of nature. But to exclude others based on bigotry or arrogance or strait face selfishness is why the inclusion church began. Its the rub .....Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16672034249385024137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-55281682275567185012010-10-05T12:01:37.678-05:002010-10-05T12:01:37.678-05:00Incredible story (and incredibly sad). We certainly have to be on guard for it. Jesus is lost in the midst of it.

Great thoughts as always, Glynn.Fatha Frankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15763574263631576373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-25664894044547787692010-10-04T07:02:57.012-05:002010-10-04T07:02:57.012-05:00Thanks Glynn,

Luke 3:38 "...the son of Adam, the son of God." Adam means man or mankind or humankind. From that point down we are all in that genealogy somewhere and God is our Father, we are brothers and sisters - literally. If we could just grasp that deep in our hearts, and view each other with radical inclusion, like family, I think we could radically change the world.Doug Spurlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06825232706173567935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-20406339939414184282010-10-03T16:34:42.310-05:002010-10-03T16:34:42.310-05:00I would have felt so betrayed by the pastor in tha...I would have felt so betrayed by the pastor in that church. Racism is not something I understand - I was born in NY, and people have always been people to me. Moving to Charleston has been radical for me - seeing how there is still so much fear, suspicion, and segregation. I hate that it overflows to the churches here still too.

Sometimes, I think the least of these we love in His name must be the people we are the most afraid to love. I think loving Him in them - that is a hard thing about Him to accept.

This is a good post, Glynn.Kelly Sauerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14138861838948184728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-70452060577965041392010-10-03T14:45:39.709-05:002010-10-03T14:45:39.709-05:00I had some great friends in high school. I am afraid that I would have stood with the youth group in this one. I cannot imagine the shock of this to the young people. Appears that once again, instead of being the leader, the church is the follower, or in this case, lagging way behind. While i might disagree with the inclusion including leadership, etc. I will not say they should not be recipients of love, acceptance and forgiveness.Bill (cycleguy)https://www.blogger.com/profile/09082407231475058958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-8359486217326918572010-10-03T10:15:12.388-05:002010-10-03T10:15:12.388-05:00Glynn, this is another fine post. Amazing to think that, not so long ago, a major denomination representing Christ to "the nations" should vote to maintain racial segregation "in good conscience." I wonder how we are unwittingly maintaing exclusionary tendencies even now!Bob Spencerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06400471363764020869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791261486111154318.post-71135275901384837582010-10-03T09:00:17.236-05:002010-10-03T09:00:17.236-05:00Yours is an excellent example of the meaning of &q...Yours is an excellent example of the meaning of "radical inclusion". Unfortunately, there remain today many examples of exclusion, and still much work for all of us to do to open ourselves fully to those whose real or imagined differences we use as excuses to maintain separateness.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13290283101378474845noreply@blogger.com
