For Cameron
It is a small thing, really,
this small speck of
life, like a mustard
seed, like a faith
beginning; like a hope,
this small thing.
This small thing grows.
It develops, it
moves, it hears, it
shapes and it is shaped;
it takes form, it
gains strength.
Then, it is. This hope, this
desire, this promise, this
possibility become
possible, this theoretical
become real. And it
lies in my arms, blinking.
Sweet and tender. And just wait till you hear that first laugh.
ReplyDeleteahhhh..... beauty.
ReplyDeleteI'm having tears over this. Nothing like a new one in your arms. I'll never get over that feeling.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet... go enjoy those snuggles :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness you've got me crying. This reminds me so much of some of the poetry my dad has written for me. Beautiful beautiful. A treasure for your grandson.
ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new hope.
Nothing like a grandbaby to bring grandparents to the place of giddy, gushing, uninhibited love.
ReplyDeleteAnd your son--how is he?
Blessings.
you captured this moment in beautiful words, a song of joy and wonder.
ReplyDeleteI do believe we have a smitten grandpa on our hands ... and that is precious, indeed. :-)
ReplyDelete"in my arms, blinking"
ReplyDeleteoh yes, how I loved that part when it was me and mine
Wonderful. Simply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou've just turned me into a blubbering mess.
ReplyDeleteOh ... and congratulations on that blinking, swaddled miracle.
Lord, thank You for Cameron, thank You for Glynn, thank You for Glynn's words.
