this is my favorite part, ...I love this, Glynn.... <br />this is my favorite part, I think;<br /><br />but by self<br />by clique<br /><br />factions click<br />in disharmony<br /><br /><br />The last line reminds me of my son in second grade, fighting that inner pull to BE WHAT YOU DO - because he was one of those kids who was good at a lot of things and he felt overwhelmed by everyone predicting his career path based on what he was good at. One day he laid out a proclaimation: "MOMMY - Just because I'm GOOD at something doesn't mean I have to BE it!" I'm not really sure that his struggle is related at all to your meaning here, but I'm not sure it isn't, either. Identity is a tricky thing. <br /><br />Beautiful poem, Glynn.
