Thirst, actual need
requires a certain
structure to satisfy,
and so the frond is
designed fan-like,
a collection system
to channel droplets,
to siphon moisture
like so much knowledge
to the central
nervous system,
a convergence
of hydrogenated wisdom.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'll drink to that.
Your metaphor is most apt, and words written with a naturalist's eye.
ReplyDeleteI think only you could have come up with "a convergence / of hydrogenated wisdom". Quite a memorable line.
ReplyDeleteLovely science type poem illuminating collection of water and wisdom. All the s sounds that run through the piece make it slosh wetness.
