A field shines emerald green
with flecks of yellow and
white, white caps on waves,
waves of green swaying
in silence in the wind,
wind circulating a slight
warmth, warmth touching
the tops of green, green
beads of perspiration
forming on leaves, leaves
reflecting the moist shine
of the field.

A field shines by Glynn2
Glynn,
ReplyDeleteI love the structure of this poem, the circle it presents, the intermingle of the elements. I also like the way it also has a sense of the sea even though it is about land.
I don't think we appreciate enough how all touches all in some way and illuminates it. This is an illuminating poem.

"A field ... / white caps on waves, / waves of green swaying": lovely image.
ReplyDeleteVery nice reading!
I love your voice -- and I love it when poetry is real aloud. To me -- it makes all the difference....
ReplyDelete:)
argh... "read" not "real"
ReplyDeleteDarn. I know to proof read. :)
The field cast quite the reflection
ReplyDeleteEspecially upon your detection
Making it sway even more
Another great piece at your shore
I love the colors of fields this time of year. Water starved, but waiting for a new season. So many variations as captured by your verse
ReplyDeleteThe rhythm of this poem reflects the undulations of the fields -- beautifully crafted! And read.
ReplyDeletei feel
ReplyDeletelike i am
sitting alone
there
in emerald field
spring turning summer
morning turning day
dampness
soaking my clothes and skin
sun making it okay
This gave me a sense of peace. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyes...
ReplyDeletethese fields have become my life here in the prairies
and life moves to the turning of the seasons
beautiful poem Glynn!
yes...

smiles. you capture a bit of beauty in that filed...great use of repitition as well...a sense of peace...
ReplyDeletelove the repetition... worked well for your poem along with a sensory feeling
ReplyDeleteThis poem makes me feel rested and peaceful and warm. A fine write.
ReplyDeleteThat was great, great, great. it felt chipper.
ReplyDeleteLove the reading, the writing, the photo...love it all! and suddenly...I can breathe again! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the flow you made here, and am so envious I can never follow words through like that.... Really awesome, fun descriptions... From a field of white flecks to white capped waves to waves in the wind to a wind circulating warmth to warmth touching green to green sweat on leaves to leaves directing light to the field. Wow... I really wish I could do that as effortlessly as you make it look. And thge phot of the field wiht the sun reflecting inthe center of it just boomed with your words... Totally awesome presentation...
ReplyDeleteI love the linkages in this poem, Glynn, which do exude a sense of peacefulness in the circle created.
ReplyDeleteWonderful movement in this... of color and flow... peacefulness in the silence of the wind.
ReplyDeleteMm, mm, now there's a place I could definitely stand to be carried away to. Lovely image you form for us today, Glynn.
ReplyDeleteA gem hauled up from a brimming sea of perception where the stillness is all. Loved it. - Brendan
ReplyDeletei think it is appropriate that your poem took such a circular form to describe this welsh landscape - like the ancient celts and their love of curving, circular lines and patterns.
ReplyDeleteamazing your leaves and field of emerald green and how the waves can dance on white caps
