Sometimes in the evening
after I go to bed I
close my eyes and
listen
sometimes to the silence
sometimes something else
Sometimes in the day
I read something so
startling so
clear and right I
know I’m being
spoken to, unexpectedly
Sometimes in the midst
of chaos and turmoil I
hear a word or
more accurately I
sense a word
and my heart is stilled

Nice evocation of the feeling you describe.
ReplyDeleteThe meditative quality of the reflection is stirring and stilling.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. I sense a word too, just when I need it most. God bless!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I listen, sometimes I don't, but it's so nice to Know He Always Does. Thanks Glynn.
ReplyDeleteGlynn,
ReplyDeleteThis poem is so true! I really enjoyed your poem as it was easy to relate to. Glad to see that you are still writing.

I like your "sometimes", Glynn, and can relate to each of its instances... A lovely poem.

ReplyDeleteSuch sometimes moments are sometimes a delight, sometimes you hear something that causes a fright. Sometimes someone does something that sometimes I like.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and peaceful... I like moments like this.
ReplyDeleteThis one goes in your poetry book, Glynn. :)
