Sunrise, curtained
date, disappears
hero, clay feet
promise, broken
hope, unrealized
honor, denigrated
hard work, disregarded
championship team, loses
expectation, flattened
commitment, unmet
restaurant, closed
addiction, unresisted
trust, violated
feelings, hurt
summit, unreached
savior, ignored

    Excellent Glynn, it's all there. I went to see the HS Varsity Girls Basketball game this weekend. I saw the loosing team smiling as they lined up to high-five the winning team. Not sarcastic smiles. Smiles that said they played well, gave it their all, and walked away, not the losers, but better players just for being in the game.

    Took a second read to see "how" to read it as I thought the second word wrapped to the next line. When I re-read it was astonishing. Pretty much captures "modern times".
