Flashes, splashes of gold
orange yellow white black
punctuated by plaintive
open mouths, jostling
and competing for bits
of compacted pellets
(25 cents per serving)
(what a deal) (even if of
unknown nutritional value)
delighting both a child
and the child within.

That's a good grandpa right there...and not a bad tie to boot!
ReplyDeleteNoting sweeter than the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson...
ReplyDeletethat's a blessing that only God could give.
:-)
Just how long is that tie, Glynn?!
ReplyDelete"...both a child and the child within."

delightful
smiles...they have this at smith mountain lake...and still love to feed the fish and looks like you had a nice partner as well..smiles.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of grandkids(besides themselves of course) is that you get to be a kid again, and you're old enough not to be embarrassed by it. Nice one, Glynn.
ReplyDeleteWhat a seething mass :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what a young lad would make of that.
Fun poem. Reminds me of visits to our botanical garden where there is a lake with koi.

I'm smiling! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSo darling... your grandson. He looks like you. =) Beautiful capture... the child and the child within. Such a blessing to have a grandpa with quarters in his pocket.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of love in this photo!
ReplyDeleteLove that tie.
