Forest Cathedral

I walk in the whisper
of the wind, splashes
of sunlight dappling
the arched nave,
shadows playing
in flickering green.
A prism’s refraction,
slight peels of light
color my way
toward the shrouded,
trunked apse. Saints
on their wooden perches
watch, approving.

  10. I love this poem and picture. They intertwine well like the symbolism of shady dell and Church together. I also learned a new word! I have never heard of the word apse before, but it is lovely.

  16. The wooden saints are a lovely touch. Even someone as unfamiliar with the inside of churches as myself can appreciate the one you build here. Beautiful and serene.
