Philip's story

After John 12:20-28

So they came to me,
thinking I was Greek,
like them, because my name
was Greek, like theirs,
and they knew that names
are not given lightly but
are given to mean something,
signify something, a trait, a hope,
a promise, a remembrance.

They asked me to see him.

I wasn’t sure what to say,
I wasn’t certain how to respond,
So I told Andrew, brother
to the rock, fisherman,
brother disciple. Andrew nodded
and walked with me
to tell him that the Greeks
wanted to meet him.

And he smiled.
