Gratitude of a King

Strings of a lyre,
Plucked, strummed,
Picked with skill
Learned on a hillside
Of sheep.
Soothing sounds,
Notes of calm,
Melodies to quiet
Near-madness,
The only way
To silence the demons
Plaguing a king.
As the musician moves
His fingers
Of balm,
In gratitude
The king throws
A kiss,
Or a spear.

a familiar story with the twist of reality that often gets lost in the telling...

Yeah, that's kind of how it is in the artist's life. :)

WOW. I love this!

I'm proofing my manuscript right now, a biblical fiction story of Saul & David. So this resonates with me very deeply at the moment. I'm grateful to have stopped in.
