Bumper crop

They tell me to be kind, warm and fuzzy

but someone please tell Al-Qaeda

They tell me to vote right

They tell me to vote left

They tell me to get totally confused

They tell me to support animal rights

They make fun of animal rightists (does that make you an animal leftist?)

Or get really nasty about animals.

I think all I want to do is stop and visualize.

The poetics prompt today at dVerse Poets is “bumper to bumper” – a poem based on a bumper sticker. I had so many to choose from I couldn’t make up my mind, so I used a bunch. To see more poems, please visit dVerse Poets.

Funny- I like how you incorporated the bumper stickers into the poem itself.

Here's mine:

whirled peas sounds like baby food though...but perhaps that is what we need...it is pretty confusing with some of the cross polination and assumptions made with beliefs...

Glynn, I enjoyed your collection. Cleverly composed.

So fun. When you get down to it, we come from so many backgrounds and viewpoints. Life is confusing!

confusing... who to listen to... maybe our inner self after some quiet time

Great title. Quite a collection of political statements.

I make a point of never having stickers on my car.

I had to laugh; the word verification is "sheap".

I love how you did this with all the bumper stickers. It was fun without losing content.

It is rare that I ever enjoy a bumper sticker. They just rub me the wrong way sometimes, but I think I might be a bit of a curmudgeon sometimes. Having said that, it's no surprise my bumper is bare.

I think the Lost-your-cat one is likely to have you coming back and finding your car scratched or those tires slashed.

These ones put together like this demonstrates the noise they all create I think. :)

Artistic portrayal of all the causes found to be worthy of marring a high-dollar vehicle.

Yes Glynn you've done an excellent job of summing up our society today in one short post! This pretty much covers quite a bit.

it seems like you are telling a story along the bumper stickers.
