I sing my song
in a circle of radiance.
You stand among fanged lions.
You dream cloudless visions,
you young man full
of faith.
You are esteemed, highly.
You walk the temple stones.
You hope for a son, still,
you old man whose gnarled voice
I still.
Your prayer is heard.
You work the olives and the hearth.
You gaze shyly at your betrothed,
you young woman full of oak
and faith.
You are favored, highly.
I sing my song
in a circle of fire.
At TweetSpeak Poetry, we’ve been talking about angels this month. And since the month is almost over, I thought I better add something angelic. Well, sort of angelic.

Very nice! And timely, especially since yesterday was the Feast of the Annunciation.
Whew...that was breathtakingly beautiful bro'!
This is among your best, Glynn. I like how you juxtapose the image of standing "among fanged lions" with working "the olives and the hearth".
"full of oak and faith"...lovely. Just downloaded your novel on Kindle :)
lots of great textures in this...woman of oak...working olive ont eh hearth...fanged lions...and the near refrain yet different from first to last...
Your angelic voice is beautiful and very welcome in my snowy world today where spring is getting pushed around by winter who does not care about working olives
Oh wow, I love this: "you young woman full of oak and faith"

enjoyed following the trail of this angel ...
Glynn, wow! LOVE this! These words woven from praise to praise, glory to glory, inception to redemption, birth to cross and on to resurrection.
Smooth and supple word work, as always, Glynn.
"You walk the Temple Stones"
"You work the Olives and the Hearth"
You who knows my heart.... Gabriel..
Very calming Glynn..thank you...bkm
Truly enjoyed and thus inspired! Always a joy to visit :)

as children
we dream
we see
we fly
angels
are such
that i can not
now understand
This is really beautiful and has an angel's innocent vibe to it, a chant-like feel.
