After Acts 5:1-11
I
was one of the young men
serving
the body, that day,
we
picked up the body,
that
day, of the man who died,
killed
by his own lie, we
carried
him out like so much
dust,
returning him to dust.
And
so his wife,
joined
him in life,
joined
him in lie,
and
followed, dust
returned
to dust.
We
had not seen an act
like
this in the body, devoted
to
life, devoted to new life,
meeting
death,
the
man and woman struck
down
in the lie.
The
winnowing comes early.
Why
does it spare me?
