After Isaiah 28:16-29
A stone is set
in the land,
a tested stone,
a foundation
that will not
crumble, set
with obvious
finality,
an answer to the
terrors
and fears
engulfing us,
a stone measured
in feet
of justice and
yards
of
righteousness, measures
that sweep away
our paltry
refuges, expose
our meager
defenses, spiral
our feeble words
of bravado
into the wind.
The stone
is so obvious
that we
understand and
reject
its simplicity.
