Rejoicing on the mountain

After Hebrews 12:22-29

The mountain is there,
the sacred place, the city
joyful, the church
joyful, the church
of the firstborn
joyful, the assembly
rejoicing, one hears
the voices singing,
full-throated joy pouring
from hearts made righteous
made perfect by the word
that hovers over the hearts
formed and filled
by the word speaking,
the voice shaking
the created things so that
only the unshaken remains.

I would love to take this poem with me to church today and remember it when "one hears the voices singing, full throated joy pouring from hearts made righteous made perfect by the word..." This is such a beautiful picture of worship pure and full to the brim with unadulterated joy...Thank you for this "word" picture created so perfectly for our Sunday morning rejoicing...

Pamela, thank you. This poem started its life as notes I took listening to a sermon in church.

Your poem inspired me to continue this theme in my Sunday blog post this morning. I have linked it to your post today as well. Thank you for sharing your gift with us today. http://pamelasopenwindow.blogspot.com/2018/03/the-voice-of-god.html
