After Hebrews 1:1-4
A sermon, a letter
spoken first, then
written, or written
first, then spoken.
How the word is
heard can change;
as with prophets
of old, followed
by silence, as if
the world is
experiencing
a collective intake
of breath, a gasp,
at what comes,
the son and heir,
the radiance,
the glow of glory,
bearing the exact
imprint of his father,
holding up the universe.
The heir purifies, first,
then sits at the right
hand. The heir is
the letter; the heir is
the sermon.
