Final Battle: Color
In the final battle,
art’s soldiers take
to the streets,
to the viaducts,
to the overpasses and
underpasses,
the crumbling brick
of crumbling buildings;
employing armies
of aerosol, of design,
of form, of style,
of skill, of talent;
painting a future
with weapons of hope.

Your poem builds a nice pace and flow in enumerating the qualities and overall positive message of the artistic army—through a lens of hope and skilled expression. Great response, Glynn.
Love this! Art is ever changing and often controversial! Fight on!
Great input on a prompt, nice use of words to illustrate freedom of expression.
A voice speaks on behalf of the positive side of a newly created art form, one that could transcend it's controversial beginnings.
i like the "weapons of hope"
like a beginning at the end of the poem.
Good, thoughtful piece.
Carefully picked up words, marking an intense piece. Loved it.
This is the voice of the street
This is the art to be seen
I like your poem
Freedom of speech detailed here Glynn...and hope through color. Thanks.
those last two lines are killer glynn!!!!!
weapons of hope are a good thing eh?
happy fathers day glynn
We need more weapons of hope if we are to paint the future bright.
Good one Glynn!
Weapons of hope and peace...and this one a smile....nice..and Happiest of Father's Day to you...blessings...bkm
graffiti artists are a unique crew as they themselves are "weapons of hope" and merely express that through spray-paint..
This is a great poem...
Everything crumbling except hope and the will and skill to paint a bright future.
Happy Father’s Day!
A great homage to the artists. "weapons of hope" a wonderful closing line. Great write! ~Rose
I liked this Glynn. I could see art's soldiers wielding their weapons of hope.
Delightful poem, Glynn. I couldn't help thinking of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH: the word "arts", the scrambling pace, locations and the Fair Trade message all evoking the theme of agrarian vs technological lifestyles. Love it!
beautiful and powerful. you paint a wonderful image with your words. I can picture art's army...hear their weapons...feel their cause...
