The
wrestling match was a draw
until
he barely touched my hip,
and
I fell broken, or did I fall
from
the moving ladder, jostled
from
my place, or did I see I Was
wrestling
with myself, an argument
about
ascents and descents, one
with
the other or both together.
The
descents were more numerous;
the
ascents more holy.

I especially like this line: "the descents were more numerous".
I can relate! Thanks for sharing your gift for words with us, Glynn.
What a fantastic interpretation of Jacob wrestling with the angel of God, and a reminder of how we all wrestle with our thoughts and impulses from time to time.
Blessings!
