After 1 Peter 1:3-9
A
river flows
from
the cracked stone
water
washing over cleaning
over
and through, the pouring
unexpected
As
the river flows
it
tests, strengthens,
builds,
the icy tearing
of
its fingers emptying pores
of
accumulated dirt
The
river purifies
fading
the stain with mist,
a
vapor dissipating
a cleansing
away
to
a revealed whiteness
because
the stone cracks: hope
because
the stone cracks: birth
because
the stone cracks: inheritance

Well done. I'd never have picked the refreshing Living water flowing from the Rock mentioned in chapter two to quench the fiery trial mentioned in here in chapter one. Well done. Did you know that the rock of Calvary or Golgatha, (the place of the skull, named thus because it was shaped like a skull) was the remains of an ancient quarry? It was a left over mound of rock, rejected by the builders, because it has a big crack running through it. And then, on top of the rock of rejection they began to crucify men...one of which was Jesus, The Chris, The Rock of our salvation.
Amen, and amen, Glynn . . .
My second novel in the new series is entitled "Redemption." I plan to use a mountain stream for the cover. It is all about hope, birth and inheritance from the God who loves and redeems.
Blessings!
