After 2 Corinthians 7:9-10
Imagine my
surprise to learn
that grief
can be a good thing,
not the
cause of grief, exactly,
it’s not a
good thing,
but the
grief that results,
that
sorrow, that internal weeping
and
sobbing without sound.
Grief is
good when grief leads
to change,
when it leads
to
repentance, not a momentary,
glancing
thought of feeling sorry
(“I
apologize if I offended anyone”)
but
repentance as living
a life
because living a life
of
repentance, that heart and mind
and soul
of personal knowledge
and
personal sorrow, leads
to the
cross.

Ah, grief can be many things...grief, sorrow, for sin that leads to repentance and change is definitely a good thing. Grief over the loss of a loved one is difficult at best, but is also a good thing. We need to learn to give in to the grief and not hold it back. The tears of grief are cleansing and healing. Those who try to withhold them will only suffer longer. Thank you for these thoughtful and needful words today.
On another note, I finished reading all three of your books in the Dancing Priest trilogy. I can only say that I hope you will continue writing...this was amazing. I would love to see a sequel...I wasn't ready to leave the Dancing King and his family just yet. Thank you for these excellent books.
Wow, Pamela, thank you so much! I'm thrilled you liked the books. There's a fourth one in the making, but no ETA yet. It's always a great pleasure to find someone who likes the stories you create!
That is great news!! Praying for you as you continue the saga of this amazing family. This story is appealing on so many levels...spiritual for sure, but I see such comparisons and analogies to our present day political scene, perhaps in America as well as the UK...I believe our country in particular is appreciating (at least many are) having a family in leadership who are not the typical politicians and who can bring a fresh perspective to our government. Obviously, that will always be met with "difficulty", to say the least, but there are higher powers at work in our world than most people realize. You have certainly touched on it very creatively. Thank you for this wonderful approach. God bless you and guide you as you write under His inspiration!
