Interview with a Speechwriter/Poet

I was interviewed (via email) by Maureen Doallas, one of my online blogging and tweeting friends who joins us for the Twitter poetry jams (plug here for TweetSpeak Poetry).

When she sent me the questions, I was surprised by how much research she had done -- Maureen knows how to do an interview right (and she has a lot to teach working journalists about this).

You can find the published interview at Maureen's blog, Writing Without Paper.

I loved her intro to the whole thing. Great voice.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Glynn. I appreciate your post on our interview. I think I selected the very best person I could have to launch this new series.

I have to tell you. I wrote 99% of the questions just by looking at your LinkedIn profile. Later, when I put your name into Google, looking for links I could add to your responses to my questions, I found a few things but mostly got the inspiration for the intro. Some stuff I thought I'd find, I didn't (after 5 pages of Google results, I stopped). What I wanted to find was that speech that "refused to die". I'm sure it's on somebody's server; I just haven't found which one yet. I don't give up easily; I just put the search aside for a bit.

This one would have been fun to do live. I really could have asked a lot of follow-up questions.

Thanks again.
