The theme for the summer edition of The Cultivating Project is staking. There are different kinds of staking – as in staking a plant with a pole, registering a claim to land or property, marking boundary lines, or tethering to make stable or secure. As editor Lancia Smith writes, “To stake is something to do. There is a visible quality to staking, even in relationships, mental boundaries, or risking an act of faith … Staking is an essential practice in becoming whole and reflects something elemental in God’s intentions for us.”
