A fine day, I sit

A fine day, I sit outside breathing

          the light

the sweet, tangled aromas of

         wood-fired pizzeria

         automobile exhaust and

         Chianti-stained cobblestones

of this tavern, I sit outside upon

         millennia of dust and hope

watching the city

side street move slowly by in frames

        a time lapse of eternity

Wonderful Glynn, as I'm coming to expect. LOVE your final line...a poem in itself. Beautiful! And now I want pizza!

You've captured the best part of vacations in the city. Thank you for the sights and sounds, I needed the respite.

Hey Glynn,

Imbued with atmosphere and settled contemplation you do a great job of conveying a time and place.

A set of marvelous poetic snap shots which you direct and edit with skill.

'Do what the Romans do, afterall Rome wasn't built in a day'. There are myriad of takes on Rome, anything at all would be relevant. You've rendered a beautiful run through here. To be there is the ultimate!

Each city has its distinctive aroma, as you describe in this poem. Good detail.

A time lapse of eternity. Wow. Just one of many likes I loved and could sense. This was filled with sights, sounds, smells, and passion. Loved it.
