Terce

Dazzling cool light
of the new sun, morning
star rising, radiance
shining, darkness overcome,
forgotten.

The moment of the irresistible
force meeting the moveable,
malleable object (the feast
is always moveable,
if not malleable).
The potter’s wheel spins
and shapes the wet clay as
the potter’s voice sings
the song of the rising sun as
the spirit moves, touches,
fingers and palms the clay;
promise fulfilled.

I like your connection of the irresistible force with the potter's wheel: a visual laying on of hands through which "the spirit moves" and the promise is fulfilled.
Lovely.

Great twist on irresistible force and moveable object. Fit perfectly into the potter's creation. Leading to a wonderful creation of your own.

What an appropriate title for the Spirit's activity at that time of day.

The world and the wheel turn, always to purpose. I greatly enjoy the serenity I always find in your words, Glynn.

I liked what Maureen said about the laying on of hands. I've never seen it that way before. I'll bet you're glad to know I also learned a new word today when I had to look up the meaning of "terce." =)
But my take away phrase is "the potter's voice sings." His singing while molding me... reminding me of Zeph 3:17 (which I also had to look up). I love knowing that God and I sing to each other. Beautiful poem.

This is brilliantly put together Glynn I like it a lot. I love the analysis of the potters wheel and the clay and His hands shaping, ever shaping us anew The syncopation of the wording holds a great deal.

I think it is through grace, being "malleable," that we are able to thrive when placed in front of the irresistible force. We are able to move with it work with it and still maintain the essence of who or what we are. The immoveable is eventually broken or eroded, no longer being "self" in the face of the force.

A beautiful and thoughtful piece of work, Glynn.

..i like the notion addressed in the first verse.. it volumes a plea in the finale note of a promise fulfilled... ineffable bliss was the initial thought i've processed in here.. adorable!

The final prayer for Tuesday's Terce liturgy was:

Almighty, ever-living God,
who at this third hour sent down your Holy Spirit on the apostles,
send forth that same Spirit of love into our hearts
so that we may bear faithful witness to you before all mankind.
Through Christ our Lord,

Love the potter's voice singing with the sun rising. An appropriate image for me as I watch the sun rise this morning, anticipating the move of the Spirit!
