Advent: The stories of waiting

I’m living this story
and I know how it ends
so if I know how it ends
does that mean the story
is the point

I’m living two stories as one
my story and his story
and I know how they end
so does this mean the stories
have the same ending

This is the way
my story ends
in the joy of anticipation
in the joy of waiting

This is the way
his story ends
not with a bang
or a whimper
but glory

If you’d like to know more about the season of Advent, Mark Roberts, the spiritual director for Laity Lodge, has an e-book entitled Discovering Advent that is both succinct and thorough.

I just posted a comment on someone else's and it fits this, too.

Reminded me of one of my past main scriptures: Deut. 6:23... He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in.

"Out" and "In" can be a long distance in between as we are walking and waiting and seeking. BUT He doesn't just putz; He keeps us in a purposeful life.

I've read and re-read this. And still ... pondering.

Yes, His story is our story because He lives in us!
Beautiful thoughts you’ve written here Glynn.
Oh, and Dancing Priest is an awesome title!
How did such a title come to be?
