The best to come

After John 14:1-14 

Believe as you’ve

been taught, believe

in the One who’s

taught you, believe

and do what I have

done, do the works

that I have done,

and even greater

than these, even

when I am gone.

Anything you ask

in my name, anything

at all, I will do

for you, will be done

for you, and the reason

is glory, glory

to the father,

which means glory

to the son, it is

all the same,

because the father 

is the son

is the father

is the spirit

is the son

is the father,

are one.

Just show us

After John 14:1-14 

Just show us,

he says, just

show us and

it is sufficient,

it is enough,

sufficient

to answer

all questions,

enough to quell

all doubts, just

show us, that’s 

all you need 

to do.

 

I’ve already

shown you.

I am sufficient,

I am enough,

I taught you

this from the

beginning. No

surprises here;

you’ve already

seen, already

been shown.

The way to where

After John 14:1-14 

You know the way

I’m going, and

yet you ask how,

and where. Yet

you know.

The house you

journey toward

is reached

by the way,

the path; it is

reached by the

truth, the word,

the map; it is

reached by the life,

the light that

illumines the way,

shines as the truth,

infusing life 

to those

who follow.

House of many rooms

After John 14:1-14 

This journey we’re on,

this path we walk,

leads ultimately

to a house. That’s

the first surprise,

because a city might

be a destination, or

a country, but 

a house, one that

accommodates all

of us? It is a house,

indeed, a house

of many rooms,

each room,

each place,

prepared ahead

of time, in advance,

long before

it’s needed.
