Rote, law, repetition

correct phrases

correct responses

law, legalisms, works

what you do

or

spirit, freedom, faith,

belief

you know the answer

the choice: a dead end

or an open road

I question why

and who has hustled you

into the dead end; tell me.

Or did you find it

on your own?

Dirty hands

After Mark 7:1-13

Your hands are dirty

but you eat anyway

it is not right

don’t you know to wash

your hands first to keep

tradition and rule

Hypocrites

you use tradition

to avoid, to sidestep, to do

what you want to do

you justify it with a sneer

a condescension a judgement

you impose on others but not

yourselves tell me what is worse

dirty hands

or dirty hearts
