Replay of “InsideOut” and Music

In case you missed the live performance, there’s a replay available of L.L. Barkat’s poetry reading with Brooke Campbell’s singing at an International Arts Movement program last night in New York City.

The replay can be found here. L.L. is reading selections from her InsideOut: Poems, which was featured here in our poetry and wine giveaway earlier this month.

The replay offers you a chance to listen to the real deal. And you still have this weekend to order InsideOut at the January special price of $6.03.

I thought of all you guys when I was reading. I held your faces in my mind, and gave to you from my heart.

thanks for the follow up post here! :)

Wasn't it special to hear her voice read those words? I felt I was in the room with she and Brooke! It was lovely.

it was a special event. i did not feel that i was in the room with l.l. and i did not feel like i was at home in front of my computer. i felt like i was somewhere in between...and both at the same time. i was with the other tweeting friends chatting, listening, clapping, and so on...and i was in my room with peter coming in and out to see what was going on...and casey wondering when she could use the computer. it was a blast.
if i was at the reading, everyone would have heard more clapping and stuff. if all the web friends were there it would have been a total riot...out of control ;-)

couldn't you just see us all there...
it would be funny if we appeared out of space, just as we are, in front of the computer, in our slippers or whatever.

ya never know what a poem will do.

I just have to say...I am loving L.L's book. It's accessible, which I love, and the language/imagery is just beautiful. Just reading a poem or two a day brings a couple moments of peace to my life.

I will have to listen to her reading...maybe when my kids are in bed tonight and the racket has died down here!
