Comfortable

Old shoes, thick laces:
toes scuffed, soles worn;
belt, braided:
waist-stretched,
sometimes shrunken;
t-shirt: yellow leaning
to white, Birmingham
Sweet Home Alabama;
Bible, tan leather cover:
hand-imprint faded,
sweat-stained,
pages smudged, marked.
