It slips in, a small stain

After I Timothy1:1-14

It slips in, a small stain,
almost unnoticeable
to the unwary, the busy,
the focused. It grows in place
or continues to seep in
and stain until it can’t
be missed or ignored,
lying there announcing
itself without words,
often accepted with words
when it offers position, or
influence, or control, or respect,
or even simple acknowledgement
of one’s self, one’s worth.
It doesn’t take much;
the stain destroys what
it touches. The wolves
are always watching,
waiting.

No special knowledge required

After I Timothy 1:1-14

No special knowledge required
no understanding of the myths
no particular insights granted
no incessant genealogies
nothing you do or know or see
or grasp. All that is required
  is faith
all that is needed to be understood
  is faith
the only insight mandated
  is faith
the only genealogy to be recited
  is faith
faith is the blood and the marrow
faith is the bone and the muscle
faith is the heart and the mind
and the soul
faith is only
faith is all
faith is
