The five hundred saw him

The five hundred saw him
after, whether all at once
or singly or in groups
does not concern us here,
only that five hundred
in a span of time, a span
of forty days, translated
from bystanders to witnesses

He spoke, they listened
he preached, they heeded
he talked, they received
he spoke, they stood
they took their stand
they believed
they held firm
they were taught
they spoke

others listened

GY ... Wow ... love it. this is great ... love the way it flows and love the piece of the "message" that is often left out.

HE still speaks...

do we still listen, stand, believe, though we don't see?

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. But blessed are those who haven’t seen me and believe anyway.” (John 20:29)

I like the meaning, the repetition, the format. Pat D.

Glynn ... reading this again. Really appreciate it. This is a great sentence, "translated
from bystanders to witnesses"

Then the "he spoke, they listened" to the "they spoke ... others listened" ... just beautiful. fantastic, powerful.
