What the Shuttle Bus Driver Said

Shuttling from one place
to another, focused on getting
there, late, late, glancing
at watches, shuttling
to the next thing when
the voice in front spoke:

It is a blessing
   to breathe the air
   in the morning.

It is a blessing
   to wash your face
   in the morning.

It is a blessing
   to brush your teeth
   in the morning.

After what He suffered
   what can they do
   to hurt me?

(This isn’t just based on a true story; it is a true story. But it happened in St. Louis, not London.)

the voice in front spoke
the words
remembered
written
and shared
the voice in front spoke
and we heard them
