Books I’m Not Recommending for Christmas: History and Biography, Culture and Faith, and Poetry

Continuing from last week, here are more books I’m not recommending for Christmas this year for history and biography, culture and faith, and poetry. Last week, the books were in the categories of mystery; art, literature, and criticism; and fiction.

Books that would be included if I had published the reviews (coming soon) include Tolkien and the Great War by John Garth; and In These Days of Prohibition: Poems by Caroline Bird.

History and Biography

A Year in the South 1865 by Stephen Ash.

Life, Culture, and Faith

Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

Poetry

Praise: Poems and Faces in a Crowd by Mary Harwell Sayler.

The Performance of Becoming Human by Daniel Borzutsky.

Thanks for the mention, Glynn. Lord willing, I'll have more books soon for you to not recommend. :) And thanks for reminding us that some people still like to read!

Also loved Deidra Riggs's ONE. Hoping for more good words from her in the future.
Blessings to you in 2018!
